Conditions We See at Sunlife Chiropractic

Most families don't call a chiropractor because they read about a technique. They call because a baby arches and screams through every feeding, because a seven-year-old still wakes up in wet sheets, because a second trimester turned every night into a search for one position that doesn't hurt. The list below is organized the way those calls actually come in — by who is struggling and what is going on — so you can find your situation quickly and read what we look at before you ever pick up the phone.

Book an Appointment

Start With the Person, Not the Diagnosis

A four-week-old, a nine-year-old soccer player, and a mom thirty-two weeks along do not get the same care, even when their discomfort sounds similar.

  • Infants — sustained fingertip pressure, roughly what you’d use to check a ripe tomato
  • School-age kids — quick, playful, and built around a nervous system that is still wiring itself
  • Pregnancy — tables and side-lying positions that keep weight off the abdomen entirely
  • Adults — firmer when that’s what a body responds to
  • Grouping the pages this way keeps those differences visible

What Each Page Tells You

Every condition page follows the same four-part structure.

  • What tends to be going on underneath
  • What we check during an exam
  • What the first visit looks like
  • The signs that mean you should be calling a pediatrician, an OB, or an emergency room instead of us — the part we think matters most
  • Chiropractic care is one option among several, and it is not the right first call for an infant with a fever, a head injury with vomiting, sudden vision changes, or bleeding in pregnancy
  • Those red flags are written into each page in plain language rather than buried in fine print

If Nothing Here Matches

This list covers what we see most often, not everything we see.

  • Families come in with concerns that never made it onto a page
  • Sometimes the honest answer after an exam is that chiropractic isn’t the right fit and someone else should look at it first
  • We would rather tell you that in a ten-minute conversation than have you drive to Frisco to find out
  • Call 214-997-1220 and describe what’s happening — Dr. Tori or Dr. Madison can tell you whether an appointment makes sense

Common questions

Do I need a diagnosis before booking?

No. Most families arrive describing symptoms, not diagnoses. The first visit is a consultation and exam, and part of its purpose is figuring out whether what you're describing is something chiropractic care can help with at all.

What if my child's concern isn't listed here?

Call and describe it. This list reflects what we see most often, not the full range. If it isn't a fit for our office, we'll say so and point you toward the right provider.

Can more than one family member be seen in the same appointment?

Yes. Scheduling siblings, or a parent and child, back-to-back is routine here, and our waiting area has toys and a playhouse for whoever isn't on the table.

How do I know if this is urgent instead?

Each condition page includes specific red flags. In general, fever in a young infant, head injury with vomiting or confusion, sudden weakness, loss of bowel or bladder control, or bleeding during pregnancy all mean you should contact your physician or emergency services rather than schedule with us.

This page is educational and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Chiropractic care does not treat or cure disease; it supports the function of the nervous system and spine. Please speak with your pediatrician or a licensed clinician about your family's specific situation, and seek immediate care for any urgent symptom.
